Flashcards at Nuit Blanche Ottawa (2012)

Flashcards, a new collaborative video work by Cheryl Pagurek and Michèle Provost, premièred as part of Nuit Blanche Ottawa 2012, Ottawa’s first all-night art festival on September 22nd, 2012.

Flashcards is a two-channel video installation that invites viewers of all ages to participate in a playful game of word/image association. Drawing from its initial location in the windows above Lauzon Music, Flashcards suggests random pairings of evocative musical terms and images, selected from all genres and eras. The often mismatched and humourous combinations created by these absurdist flashcards engage viewers in a light-hearted search for meaning. A single channel version of this project is also available for screening and display at other venues.

For Nuit Blanche Ottawa, Flashcards was hosted by Zibeo Digital Signage Solutions, 1343 Wellington Street West, Ottawa.
