Interact at Patrick Mikhail Gallery, December 2023
Dancers Rion Taylor and Wyeth Walker will be interacting with the States of Being installation during 2 evening events at Patrick Mikhail Gallery in Montreal, on Thursday December 7 from 6-8 pm and Friday December 8 from 6-8 pm. Rion and Wyeth are both with Montreal’s RUBBERBAND dance company. Visitors to the gallery will also have the opportunity to try out the interactivity themselves. New content for the installation, States of Being 4, featuring archival and present-day imagery of Montreal, will also be presented for the first time, with music by composer Jesse Stewart.
Winter Garden, an interactive collage that builds new compositions in response to the viewer’s presence, will be presented as well. Also on view will be a series of short videos exploring several dancers’ interactions with the installation, which have screened internationally.
